Covita, your CD is just wonderful. I don't know how many times I have played it and I keep getting inspired! Thanks for putting it all together.
For days I listented to Covita's Sophia's Table as background while doing my practice of T'ai Chi Chih. Its haunting melody spoke to the energy welling up within me. Words rippled by, revealing meaning in movements. Then I listened intently to the words. I was not surprised to recognize my own Soul story from beginning to end. What a gift. I hope to find ways to share this gem with directees who come in search of themSelves. Hope this is helpful. Your CD certainly is!
This morning I reflected that your CD gently probes the depths of feminine spirituality and will be a challenge to many who are not aware of or friendly with the anima side of their nature. That could cause fear in them. Only love casts out fear. I wish you the best and thank you again for this opening into wholeness.

Dear Covita,
Received your CD. Listened once. Not enough. It is wonderful. So personal, yet universal – so many layers; personal lyrics/stories that inspire me to have the courage to try to write out mine... thanks for sharing it all.
...I love it. What I really love – and feel inspired about – is the fact that the lyrics/stories are so personal, yet universal. There is so much in that CD...many levels...and woven with such care in choice of words, music, musicians. I need music more than ever now – especially music that speaks more deeply than radio stuff.

I liked the way Mary's poems and Covita's songs resonated together, for example, Covita's "Long Life Assured" followed by Mary's "Renewal."

CONGRATULATIONS!
What a wonderful feast...for the ears...the imagination... You bring tears of joy...evoke emotions, with your words...your music...your voice. Your songs and Mary Earle's poems are just beautiful, and inspiring. I wish you well, on this journey thru life!

...When I got the CD I immediately put it in my car and listened for a full week. I loved the mixture of music and poetry – ...very meaningful poetry – especially for those in midlife and beyond. I loved so many of your songs – The duet with Chris was beautifiul, and Sophia's Table was was so lyrical. I also loved the piece where your voice is tightly associated with the musical instruments – following and mimiking the notes as they glide through the song like a river flowing up and up.
– Sharon Giorgio, Educator, Ellicot City, MD

... It is an exquisite CD. I savor the times I listen to your music and I send loving blessings to it, to you, to Christopher, to Rev. Mary Earle, and to everyone else who collaborated in the manifestation of Sofia's Table.
– Mary Frances Weathersby, Spritiual Guide and Yoga Instructor, San Antonio, TX

... I got your CD yesterday – 2 copies actually, gave one to Pam Ferguson – and am just blown away! It is so beautiful, in-Spirited, poignant, tender, powerful, finely crafted. How many more adjectives can I dream up? I am truly impressed. It takes great skill of course to put out something like this but even more, it takes great courage to put your voice – literally – your words/lyrics Out There. For all of us trying to find our voices, you are a star we can hitch our wagons to. I salute you, dear one, and pray blessings and abundance on this offspring of yours.
– Martha Grant, Visual Artist and Poet, San Antonio, TX

Martha Grant and I just had lunch and she brought me a copy of your CD. I am SO PROUD of you! I listened to a couple of songs coming back to work – it was GREAT to hear your voice again, Covita!
– Pamela Ferguson, Writer, San Antonio, TX

We received your sample cd and have enjoyed it immensely. I think the more so because of the story behind this achievement.
– Patricia Hume, Spiritual Director, Bangor, ME

Mary and Covita are very flammable in a spiritual way!

Browsing in Viva Books this week, what should cross my path (serendipitously) but Sophia's Table! A moving, beautiful piece of work that resonates deeply.... Thank you for making it! My favorites include the title track and "We Go On," "Find Me Now," and "Open Hearts and Empty Hands." Many kudos for "Sophia's Table"!!! You are gifted, blessed and blessing. So glad that "your world touches mine."

Covita's Table

A review by Jim Beal, San Antonio Express-News

If you're into a variety of music in these parts, the name Covita Scelsa Moroney should sound familiar. But to this point, people have known Moroney for things other than one-on-one performing. She has worked as marketing director for the San Antonio Symphony, worked at the Carver Community Cultural Center, run a demo studio, played bass in a variety of bands and helped form the well-regarded San Antonio Vocal Arts Ensemble.

While Moroney describes herself as "forty-something and fearless," and while she's been performing music off and on since 1974, now she's taken a big step and released her first "solo" album, Sofia's Table.

Moroney's songs are about seeking and discovering, about the spiritual, about renewal. Sofia's Table is peaceful and gentle and well-textured. Moroney has a fine voice and an excellent touch on guitar. The album also includes the contributions of Cindy Barbier (vocals, flute, recorder), Henry Brun (percussion), Joel Dilley and Kevin Lewis (bass), Bobby Flores (pedal steel, violin), Armando Aussenac (drums), Christopher Moroney (piano), Rene Gasca (trumpet), Hank Harrison (violin, mandolin), Lee P'Pool (percussion), Gordon Ulmer (didgeridoo), Hamilton Ulmer (clarinet) and an on-the-note group of backing singers.
